Strongsville Schools To Continue In-Person Education

STRONGSVILLE, OH — In-person instruction will continue in the Strongsville Schools, the Board of Education decided late last week. Superintendent Cameron Ryba said he does not believe Cuyahoga County will turn "purple" this week. While the county remains "red" for its COVID-19 spread, that has not deterred the district from keeping all students in school. "Cuyahoga County, along with nearly every other county in the state has reached the "high incidence" designation. In this system, so long as we are designated as "high incidence", we cannot be designated as Level 2/Orange even when we are meeting three (3) or fewer indicators," Ryba said in an email to families. While in-person instruction will continue this week, there will be no school on Tuesday. Some of the district's buildings are used as polling locations for the general election, prompting Ryba to close the district for the day. Strongsville polling locations for the general election can be found on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website.
