STRONGSVILLE, OH — High school students from across Rep. Anthony Gonzalez's district are invited to submit artwork to the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. Winning artwork could be displayed at the U.S. Capitol.
"In a world filled with so much uncertainty, I am thrilled to be able to continue the tradition of the Congressional Art Competition in Ohio's 16th District," said Gonzalez. "Art is not only an important component of our education system, but a constructive outlet for many of our students who are facing significant life changes in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to seeing the unique artwork that our high schoolers put forward this year."
Submission are due by May 31. Students can send their artwork to Gonzalez's office via email, at [email protected].
Submissions must be two-dimensional and original in concept, design and execution. Students must also submit an artwork release form. All the rules and regulations can be found online.
Gonzalez will also host a people's choice competition for the artwork using social media. From June 1 through June 7, constituents can vote on which piece is their favorite. The winner will be displayed in Gonzalez's office in Strongsville.
