A Course in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, to become equipped to live with and through the world we have been given, with balance. Want some ease of mind? Come join this group offering of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction @SomethinGoodToEat We need to become more equipped to live with and through the world we have been given. That strength comes from within and with this course, we aim to help guide us on improving that inner balance. Some topics we will cover: Mindful MeditationMindful MovementMindful EatingMindful Communication + Non-Violent CommunicationSympathetic + Parasympathetic Nervous Systems and how stress impact themThe teacher of this course, Andrew TaySha, is qualified by Brown University to teach this clinical course and has been teaching MBSR and some of its varieties for 4 years and is currently working on a program for Teens with Kent State Psychology Department. There is a FREE orientation Monday, February 28th from 7pm-8pm. Here you can come feel it out and learn more about the course (this is required to join the course). The course will then commence with 8 Monday night sessions from 6:30pm - 9:00pm. There is additionally 1 All Day Retreat on Saturday, April 16th from 9:45am - 4:00pm. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an 8-week intesive, educational, and experiential program, launched in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. More than 20,000 people have completed this evidence-based program that teaches skills to help cope with stress, pain, and illness.
