A Kirtan Concert by Bhakti Weavers. Please come sing and celebrate with us! Bhakti Weavers is a Kirtan band inspired by the sacred feminine and energized by soulful songs from various wisdom cultures. We are an evolving group of “kirtanistas”, weaving a tapestry of unity, spirit, joy and diversity through sacred song. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, our core group is Pavitra Jagadeesan, Renata Lima and Mary Menninger. Pavitra, Renata and Mary came together at Jai Uttal’s kirtan camp and the creative spark ignited. Their mirth can’t be contained! Any and all are welcomed to join this event. Our concert is dedicated to the Goddess or Devī, the songs inspired by the spiritual classic - Devī Māhātmyam - The Glory of the Goddess. The three stories of the Devī’s epic is set on the sacred ground that represents the field of human consciousness on which the drama of our individual lives plays out, in sorrow and joy, in heartache and triumph, in folly and wisdom. It is a universal allegory of the human experience that serves as a guide for our inner life. In this epic Devī is personified as one Supreme Goddess, who appears as herself and in her aspects as three goddesses, to confront the shadows of the ego mind and to dispel the mistaken idea of who we are. This event is sliding scale with the aim to make it accessible to all. Please pay the highest amount you can to make the event accessible to others who cant. The Center SF is following all SF city Covid guide lines and is requiring all attendees to show proof of vaccination upon entry to all events.
