Description
DFW TUMI Alumni Conference. A gathering of urban leaders in the DFW area who are a part of The Urban Ministry Institute family. We are excited to gather the wonderful family of TUMI (The Urban Ministry Institute ) ministry leaders this year. All TUMI friends and Alumni are welcomed to join us for the great conference. A TUMI Alumni Student is anyone who has taken and completed at least one class/module. You do not have to be a graduate to be considered an alumnus. It will take place at the Dallas Christian College Chapel located at 2700 Christian Pkwy in Dallas, TX 75234, which is in the Farmer’s Branch area. Registration fee of $20 includes a conference t-shirt, lunch, and program material.Registration opens at 8 A.M. and the program will begin at 9 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Our prayer is that you would attend and be encouraged, feel supported and loved and remember that you have an extended family that cares about you. It will be a time of teaching, encouragement, praising and fellowshipping with the alumni that attend. We anticipate a joyous gathering as we come together to worship the Lord. We hope you are able to join us. As a national training arm of World Impact, TUMI equips leadership for the urban church, especially among the poor, in order to advance the Kingdom of God. We focus our investment on leaders who are called to evangelize, disciple, plant, and pastor churches in unreached urban neighborhoods. Our single passion and desire is to advance the Kingdom of God in America's inner cities, and, as God leads, around the globe. Believing strongly that effective Christian ministry cannot take place apart from the Body of Christ, TUMI is committed to enriching the life and outreach of urban congregations and their servant-leaders. Our programs and materials are designed to equip men and women to serve effectively in the context of a local assembly. Furthermore, since half of the people alive today live in cities, and with this number constantly growing, TUMI believes that Christian leadership education calls for a special focus on urban ministry. Believing, too, that God has chosen the poor to be rich in faith and to inherit the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him (James 2:5), TUMI unequivocally holds that no one should be excluded for training merely because they cannot afford it, or lack the academic background to qualify for traditional seminary training. In light of this, we believe that God is raising up dynamic leaders from among the urban poor who deserve access to quality theological education.
