Join us for the Free Festival of Veils at MTSU and a multi-cultural experience which investigates the VEIL in Judaism, Christianity, & Islam In observance of Women's History Month and in coordination with over 20 departments and student organizations, Middle Tennessee State University is hosting a legendary event called the Festival of Veils on March 19, 2022, from 12-4 at the Student Union Commons. This outdoor family-oriented event. We would like to personally invite you to attend. This event will focus on inclusion and the importance of diversity in our community. With over 30 booths participants will learn the history and mystery with the veil/head-covering in Judaism, Catholicism, Christianity, and Islam. This is an amazing event showcasing the MTSU, Murfreesboro, and Nashville communities in a positive and diverse manner, but we need you to help make this a success. We need your support to show that this community is inclusive and welcoming. We would like to not only invite you to attend but also ask you to please share this information with the community. We want to paint a new picture of diversity and inclusion in our community, but we need your support! We would love to YOU attend our event! We need help sharing this event! Free Activities and booths Distinguished lecturers 1,500 free veils to hand out Veil Wrapping demonstrations with examples The Veil Challenge Booth with a video produced at MTSU which followed 5 students around after wearing hijab for 1 week Political rights area with a focus on laws outlawing hijab A sociological survey conducted by the sociological organization at MTSU Q and A Booths with Distinguished speakers from Islam, Catholicism, and more Prayer bead making henna art Art Contest depicting how the veil empowers women (art was submitted by Metro and Rutherford County School students) Intercultural and Diversity Affairs Booth June Anderson Center for Women and Non-Traditional Students Booth Photo Booth Kid Zone: Face painting, bead making, bookmaking, inflatable slide, inflatable bounce house, and more Free food and drinks as well!
