BLOOMINGTON, MN — Authorities are investigating after a 50-year-old man was assaulted while he was walking to Dar Al Farooq, a mosque in Bloomington, Thursday night. The attack happened in the area of 82nd Street and Park Avenue. The man was walking to the Islamic center when two people approached and began assaulting him, police said. He suffered a non-life threatening upper body injury and was transported to Fairview Southdale Hospital. Police searched the area and did not find the two suspects who were described as being in their late teens or early twenties. The assault is an active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Bloomington police at (952) 563-4900.
