EDINA, MN — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and charging of a suspect involved in an attempted robbery Monday in Edina. M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital and the buildings surrounding it went into lockdown as a result that night.
A 45-year-old doctor from Eagan was shot in the head during the incident at the hospital parking lot.
A witness told the Star Tribune that the doctor "was being robbed at gunpoint and was shot when he resisted." The doctor was treated at the hospital and then released. He provided officers a description of the suspect.
Edina Police are looking for an Asian male in his 30s with shaved hair and a tattoo on the right side of his neck who was wearing sweatpants. The suspect fled the scene, according to authorities."Those in the area are urged to exercise caution and remain in their homes," officials said Monday night.
The Edina Crime Prevention Fund is offering the reward. Anyone with information is asked to call Edina police at (952) 826-1600.
