BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Buffalo Grove Police Sergeant Michelle Kondrat retired Wednesday after proudly serving Buffalo Grove for more than 24 years. Kondrat was sworn in as a police officer in 1996, where she served in many roles prior to being promoted to sergeant in 2015. As a valued member of the agency, Kondrat focused her knowledge and experience in many areas throughout her career, which include being a School Resource Officer (2006-2009), Investigator (2009-2015), and Traffic Sergeant (2017-2020). During her career, she also served as a Field Training Officer, Evidence Technician, and was a Team Leader for the Lake County Major Crime Task Force (2013-2015). Kondrat is a 2018 graduate of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command. Kondrat has earned numerous awards over her many years of service, which include multiple Employee of the Quarter honors, a Certificate of Commendation, multiple Honorable Mention Honors, and a Unit Citation.
