HINGHAM, MA — Members of the Hingham Police Department will be joining team "Freeze Police" this weekend for the Special Olympics' Polar Plunge at Nantasket beach. People around the South Shore are joining members of police departments are taking the plunge in freezing conditions to help raise funds for the Special Olympics. This Saturday, Feb. 26, participants of the Polar Plunge will gather at the MJM Bathhouse on Nantasket beach between 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. From there, pictures will be taken, costumes will be put on, and people will get ready to plunge one team at a time, instead of all at once. In light of Friday's storm, organizers are asking everyone to bring warm clothes, whether you're plunging or just cheering people on. The Hingham Police Department will be there selling stickers for $10.00 each, to help raise money for the team. All proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics Massachusetts.
