Description
PRINCETON, NJ — The Council will be holding a public hearing on the ordinance to create a Special Improvement District (SID) in Municipality on Monday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m.
The SID will help promote economic growth and employment, according to the Council.
An Economic Revitalization Steering Committee (Steering Committee) was formed earlier to identify ways to help the local economy thrive. The Steering Committee found that the best way to meet the challenges of maintaining a healthy, vital business community and providing economic development and revitalization was by creating a Special Improvement District.
The ordinance was introduced on Jan. 24. Council called it a "historic" ordinance as it will bring together the public and private sectors to create revitalization and growth.
The public hearing will be part of the regularly scheduled Council Meeting. Click here for more information.
