3 Charged With Trafficking Camden County 17-Year-Old

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Three South Jersey residents have been charged with trafficking a Camden County teenager for sex, officials said. Online advertisements were found last fall offering the 17-year-old for commercial sex in Cherry Hill with detectives able to link them to 21-year-old Jazmin L. Scott of Collingswood, according to a news release from the New Jersey Attorney General's office. Detectives reunited the teenager with family after arresting Scott in Camden last October, according to Matthew J. Platkin, the acting state attorney general. Scott was found to be linked to a human trafficking network with two Lawnside residents also charged in the investigation, Platkin's office said. Marquise D. Ogawa, 28, "allegedly managed the human trafficking network by advertising the victim and others for commercial sex acts, soliciting customers, renting hotel rooms, setting prices, and collecting payment." Chyaire J. Lee, 26, "allegedly arranged for customers to have sex with the juvenile victim, transported the victim, paid for hotel rooms, and collected payments for services on behalf of Ogawa." Both were arrested in December in Lawnside. All three were charged with first-degree conspiracy, first-degree human trafficking, second-degree facilitating human trafficking, first-degree promoting prostitution, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Ogawa is also charged with first-degree promoting organized street crime, Platkin's office said.
