Description

Press release from the City of Plymouth: November 23, 2020 While social activities are limited due to COVID-19, the City of Plymouth offers a way to keep residents connected this holiday season – the Plymouth Post. A volunteer-based initiative through the Parks and Recreation Department, the Plymouth Post provides community connection through pen and paper. Letters written by volunteers offering encouragement and cheer will be sent to those in the community who could use a special greeting, especially around the holidays. Most Plymouth Post letters will be sent to seniors, but anyone who is feeling isolated and lonely during this time can be a designated recipient. To add a friend or family member to the recipient list, email [email protected]. Residents are encouraged to let their loved ones know that they may receive an unsolicited letter from the city. Volunteers Needed With the holidays around the corner, the city is seeking volunteers to write letters to help send holiday cheer to those whose social interactions are limited. Volunteers may share their favorite holiday past times, send a photo of an amusing pet or show artistic talent by drawing a picture to include with the letter. Creativity is encouraged. Letters are due by Dec. 10. To volunteer to write letters, email Volunteer Services at [email protected]. This press release was produced by the City of Plymouth.
