Description

Press release from the City of Plymouth: August 25, 2020 The City of Plymouth has heard questions and concerns from area residents regarding the progress of the Vicksburg Lane Reclamation Project. In the last month, the contractor has uncovered significant soil issues which have slowed the progress of construction on Vicksburg Lane between County Road 6 and Highway 55. In order for the completed project to be viable long-term, the unanticipated soil conditions require more intense remediation. While some areas have required a specialized treatment to stabilize the underlying soil, other areas necessitating soil correction have required the contractor to designate a significant amount of time to allow the soil to dry prior to paving the roadway. This soil correction work has resulted in periods of time where crews were not actively working on-site while waiting for the soils to dry. However, this downtime is necessary for the long-term durability and success of the project. Plymouth city staff understand that this construction is an inconvenience for the traveling public and appreciate your patience as these necessary improvements are completed.
