Description

Oreo is a loving/cuddly dog who needs more attention than we can give. He is good with dogs (we have one other dog), cats (we have two cats), and children (we have one six year old). Oreo is very playful and always wants to be in your lap. He knows how to sit and stay, but doesn't stay for very long. He likes to run when outside and usually listens when I tell him to come. I usually have treats and let him know, and he'll stay close by for the most part. Oreo is potty trained, but he doesn't do a great job of letting us know he has to go. He doesn't bark when he has to go, he usually just starts pacing by the front door, and sometimes gives me that back and forth look between the door and my face. He's easily excitable, especially if you have a rope or other toy. He's pretty good about not being too rough and listens when I say "no" and "gentle". He likes to chew up his bed and toys, so we make sure to give him plenty of hard toys/bones. He is very food motivated and sometimes snatches treats as I'm giving them, but I usually point my finger at his nose (sometimes tap his nose) and say "be nice" or "gentle" and he does a better job of avoiding my fingers. Open palm is best, but as long as you remind him to be gentle beforehand, he is pretty good about being gentle. He loves going on walks and does pretty well when our six year old is holding the leash. Oreo knows how to (listens/responds to): sit, lay down, stay, speak (sort of), go potty, outside, walk, food, treat, paw/shake, up, down... I think that's it. Again, he's not the greatest most obedient dog ever, but he's pretty good. Looking for a new family. He doesn't like being alone and needs a lot of attention. My wife and I are just not able to keep up with him and want him to find a new family that is able to give him the love and attention he deserves. He is microchipped and we can give you the info for it so you can change address/owner, etc). He is neutered, current with all shots and flea/tick/heartworm prevention and can provide vet records from Bush Animal Clinic. Re-homing fee applies, and Oreo will be able to keep his bed, walking harness/leash, a few toys and food dish if desired. We love him and want to make sure he will be loved and well cared for in his new home, so We will be asking for you to meet with Oreo either at our home or a nearby dog park (human and animal family members are invited as well!). If interested, please reach out to me through the CL mail relay. Map shows approx. location of potential dog park meet-and-greet location.
