Unfortunately the SCOTUS has become political. In a perfect world, either party should be able to pick acceptable candidates because the appointed justices are supposed to follow the constitution ONLY. They are not supposed to let liberal or conservative views influence their opinions, but alas, that ship has sailed and we are left with a partisan judicial branch.
As a side note, I do not approve of his choice simply because it's based on race and gender and eliminates around 94% of potentially qualified candidates. I don't care how you spin it, the mathematics of probability don't lie. Also black Americans were already numerically represented in the SCOTUS. If biden has to play the race/gender game rather than who is most qualified, he should have nominated a white or hispanic female.
