The best, and least costly in lives, way to beat Putin is to starve his economy. Russia is the third largest producer of energy in the world behind the US and Saudi Arabia. Right now he is supplying more than half the energy used in Europe. Even the US is buying oil from Putin! This could end if countries like the US would step up and supply Europe with the energy it needs. Putin convinced Germany to buy oil, natural gas and coal from Russia and shut down its nuclear power plants. How dumb a move is that, not only for becoming more dependent on Russia, but trading in clean power for climate changing pollution power. Or we could become energy independent so all the oil we import from Russia and the Middle East could be diverted to Europe. Have no doubt, Putin is a modern-day Hitler. He wants to put back together the USSR and regain the image lost when it fall apart. There are no sanctions that will work against him. I am not advocating war with Russia, but instead total isolation from the Western World, which includes money and energy. Crimea was the first step. Ukraine the second. Who knows what country will come next. Only he does. And his new best friend is Xi in China. And for those of you living under rocks, he has his eye on Taiwan. And we are just as dependent on China as Europe is on Russia. Will we defend Taiwan? Do we have the will, or means, to isolate ourselves from China? Wake up folks!
