SOLON, OH — Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, at least 103 cases of the virus have been confirmed in Westlake.
The Cuyahoga County Board of Health recently released its latest COVID-19 update. The report breaks down COVID-19 cases by ZIP code.
The Solon-associated ZIP codes have had between 103 and 204 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, the report said. Last week, the same report indicated Solon has seen between 92 and 171 cases since the pandemic began.
Cuyahoga County is one of 19 Ohio counties classified as "red" for its "very high" rate of COVID-19 spread. The county is now averaging nearly 179 new COVID-19 cases per day, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
The report said the majority of new cases in the county, 88 percent, are emerging from non-congregate settings. Congregate settings include locations like prisons and nursing homes.
"Outpatient visits for coronavirus more than tripled during the past three weeks. It's critical that the residents of Cuyahoga County remain vigilant and do all they can to reduce their risk and exposure to coronavirus. We are continuing to monitor their data closely," Gov. Mike DeWine said on Thursday.
