It’s with a heavy heart that I search for a new home for my Carolina Dog companion, Gaby. Gaby: - is a happy, strong, loving dog - LOVES people and quickly bonds to you - is besties with a few dogs; however, she’s an alpha and would be best in a home as an only dog - is high energy and loves long walks in nature - is house-broken and handles well on a leash - passed her annual physical recently (2/9/22) with flying colors. She is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm/ flea/tick treatments - is 6-yr-old, 45 lb., Carolina breed, adopted from Brunswick County Animal Services in Jan 2017 at 1 yr old - plays “friendly” with dogs she meets when all off leash, they run, chase, and wrestle freely. - has successfully been with other dogs in Doggie Daycare within the last year - spent some weekends in homes with two dogs in last six months. She had a few jealous “snarls” at the other dogs but was quickly distracted and calmed - takes anti-anxiety meds - may react jealously to other 4-legged that vie for your attention. Her alpha dog reactions can be aggressive. - Gaby’s primary Sitter, Miriam L, wrote the below letter of recommendation for Gaby. She will happily talk with anyone interested in becoming Gaby’s new human. --------------------------------------------------------------- February 23, 2022 To whom it may concern, Gaby has stayed with us 24 nights from July 2021 through February 2022. She is truly a delightful companion and look forward to her visits with us. She loves to cuddle, is playful and loves long walks. Gaby lets you know when she needs to be walked by nudging you and saying something that almost sounds like “walk”. We truly enjoy her visits and miss her company after she leaves. Unfortunately, we are not ready to be full time pet owners, otherwise we would take her in a heartbeat. 💓 Our hope is that she finds a new loving home and we can continue to see her and welcome her as our guest when her new owner needs a dog sitter.
