Description
A couple reasons why they probably won't work.
1. China is very tight with Russia and is not going to participate in any sanctions against them
2. A huge part of Russia's income is from selling natural gas to Europe which accounts for over 40% of Europe's supply. If Europe had anticipated this kind of problem 20 years ago and gotten much further along in transitioning to green energy, that would make a big difference. Right now, they depend on Russia.
3. Most of the world views this as a fight between two former USSR countries and doesn't want it to evolve into WW III. Ukraine and Russia were part of the same country 30 years ago so both countries were considered the enemy in recent memory.
4. Trump greatly weakened the US's position in world politics with his constant America First nonsense which was an over insult to our allies. So now Europe is far less willing to follow the lead of the US like it once might have.
