Water lettuce is an easy-to-care-for floating freshwater aquarium plant that provides cover for fry and shy fish and also filters the water. The picture with the measuring tape is an example of what you will receive for $5 - several plants of varying sizes. These plants float on the water's surface and have stringy white roots that feed from the water column - no planting required! When in an aquarium with low water flow, the plants will grow six inches wide and their roots will grow down the entire water column, creating a neat forest-like effect.
