SOLON, OH — A 21-year-old hit a parked car in Solon on Thursday morning. The owner of the hit car followed the 21-year-old, who drove off after the crash, and eventually got him to stop his car, police said.
The collision happened on Baldwin Avenue, just after midnight. A resident on Baldwin heard a lard noise, went outside and saw that his car had been hit. The vehicle was parked on the street and the car that crashed into his vehicle was driving away.
The resident chased the car as it left and got the driver to pull over. The resident convinced the 21-year-old to come back to the house.
When police arrived, they spoke to the 21-year-old and smelled alcohol on him, according to reports. The driver denied drinking, but field tests indicated he was impaired, police said.
The driver was taken into custody and driven to Solon Jail, where he took a breath test. He blew a .165. He faces charges for operating a vehicle impaired, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to control his car.
