Yard Manager & Mechanic Required

Yonkers based concrete contractor is looking for a full-time mechanic and yard manager for our construction office. The mechanic/yard manager will provide maintenance and repair services for company vehicles, equipment, and tools. Must have a valid driver’s license. CDL is a bonus. Duties and Responsibilities: • Diagnose problems and perform mechanical repairs as required • Coordinate advanced repair work with outside shops and mechanics • Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the shop and yard • Clean, inspect, maintain equipment daily • Check outgoing/incoming equipment • Prepare and load material onto trucks for delivery • Assemble/disassemble/clean equipment and tools • Complete yard paperwork/documentation of incoming and outgoing material • Coordinate and inspect quantity and quality of shipments coming and going from the yard General Qualifications: • Mechanical aptitude • Experience with vehicle diagnostics/troubleshooting and problem-solving • Excellent attention to detail • Good verbal/written communication skills • Decision making/problem solving ability • Able to lift up to 75 lbs • Valid and clean driver’s license; CDL a plus • Safety conscious • Excellent attendance and punctual • Common sense • Performs other related duties as assigned • Experience with backhoe maintenance a plus • Experience with diesel engines a plus Education and Experience: • Knowledge of automotive repair and electronics • References required
