LPF redistributes equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities. Leveling The Playing Field is excited to announce its Cocktails for a Cause “March Madness” themed fundraiser! Join us for a March Madness fundraising dinner (7:30 PM) and late-night happy hour (9:00 PM) on Friday, March 11th at Silver New American Brasserie, 3404 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC. Starting at 9.30 PM, guest bartenders Daniel Griffin, Will McBeath, Max Levitt and Vivian Tang will be shaking up cocktails for a cause, donating all cash tips to local nonprofit Leveling The Playing Field (note: credit card tips on the bar bill do NOT go to the charity - so bring cash or a check for the tip jar or donate tips via credit card through a LPF representative!). With your help, we will be able to create a world without sidelines! If coming for dinner, PLEASE make a reservation (Open Table works). Founded by Montgomery County, MD resident Max Levitt, Leveling the Playing Field was founded in 2013 in response to the growing inequity between those that can afford to play sports and those that cannot, and the prominent role the cost of sporting goods was playing in that gap. After working in youth sports, college athletics and professional football, our founder, Max Levitt, realized the volume of equipment that goes to waste from elementary school aged kids all the way up to our professional sports franchises. In response, he decided to develop essentially a food bank for sports equipment. If you come for dinner before the happy hour, Silver will donate 10% of your bill to Leveling The Playing Field (be sure to let your server know you're there for the event and make a reservation!). Stay after dinner or just join us at the bar, where we'll be shaking up a special drink in addition to Silver's long list of craft beers, wines, and spirits.
