SOLON, OH — Suspected heroin was found during a traffic stop in Solon, according to police reports. At 10:30 p.m. on July 5, police stopped a car U.S. 422 because it did not have a back license plate. The driver, an Aurora man, told officers he was taking his passenger to a hospital in Solon. Police told him there is no hospital in Cleveland. After a conversation with the driver, police determined the man did not have a driver's license. He was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, police said. He was asked to step out of the car. As the driver got out, police saw what appeared to be a syringe on the floor of car, according to police reports. The syringe appeared to be used, with blood still in the tube, police said. The driver was then taken into custody and put in the back of a police cruiser. Officers searched the car and found multiple syringe caps. The passenger's purse had a pill bottle with a grey-white rock inside, police said. The passenger said she thought the rock was heroin. The passenger, a Hiram woman, was then taken into custody and brought to Solon Jail. Police tested the rock and determined it was heroin. The rock weight 0.2 grams, according to police reports. The passenger faces charges for drug possession, police said.
