Ferndale Farmstead is a growing new creamery located on a beautiful dairy farm in Ferndale Washington. We are creating a bold line of old-world style cheese and we're looking for excited, motivated and hardworking individual for Maintenance & Production Operator position who has a desire to be part of a great team. Maintenance & Production Operator is responsible for repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors conveyor systems, gearboxes, and production machines and equipment as well as operates designated section. Maintenance Responsibilities: • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges. • Repairs or replaces defective parts. • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. • Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery. • Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications. • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. • Sharpens and reshapes tools as necessary. • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines. • Repairs electrical equipment. Section III Operator is responsible for the packing production flow on production floor. It is important this position clearly understand they set the pace of the end production flow. Key responsibilities include: • Perform a variety of tasks involved in the manufacturing of cheese artisanal products by following established procedures, to produce product according to company specifications, quality and safety objectives in Section III • Must thoroughly understand processes and independently make decisions that affect product quality. Ensure cheese gets packaged on the line in a timely manner. • Ensure production is running efficiently and processes meet Ferndale Farmstead, State, and Federal regulatory standards. • Setup, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure everything is operating effectively. Minimum Qualifications/Educational Requirements • High School Diploma Required Skills/Attributes: • Minimum of 1-2 years quality-oriented experience in a production facility • Minimum of 1 year of Managerial Experience in production facility • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds routinely. • Work in hot and humid environment • Use of hand tools and attention to detail is essential • Lift floor to chest height 45# • Reach and twist to remove small (5-20# units) from side or front, arm extended 200X/day Preferred Qualifications: • Detail oriented • Strong communication skills (non negotiable) • Goal-Oriented • Ability to take constructive feedback • Team player with diverse group of people • Bilingual in Spanish & English Pay: Pay is determined on experience but FFC strives in competitive wages.
