Description

Community Block Party Influenced by Caribbean Culture | Hosted by the J Tolbert Foundation What is Carnival? Traditional Carnival as typically celebrated in Trinidad and Brazil, is a festive season which occurs immediately before Lent, usually in February or March. The KC Carnival kicks off with an invite only Jouvet on March 25, followed by the KC Carnival Parade + Block Party on March 26 open to the public. This family event has many different types of entertainment, and we want to ensure you don’t miss out on anything each year. KC Carnival + J Tolbert Foundation The J Tolbert Foundation was founded in 2022 in direct response to a desire to experience Caribbean culture via a Carnival celebration in Kansas City. The desire led to the foundation establishing the KC Carnival celebration. This celebration will seek to provide a greater understanding and appreciation for Caribbean cultures through music, dance, and food.
