All MidPen employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Starting April 1st, 2022, boosters will be required for employment at MidPen. (As a reminder, booster eligibility means that at least 5 months have passed from your 2nd shot of Moderna or Pfizer or 2 months from your Johnson & Johnson shot.) Employees will have 30 days past their eligibility date to get the booster. (By April 1, all employees should have the booster - unless 30 days have not passed since their eligibility date.) Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will be required to demonstrate they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19; or qualify for an accommodation to this vaccination requirement. Employees with an approved accommodation will be required to test for COVID-19 on a weekly basis. SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Community Manager, the Janitor is responsible for the upkeep of the project grounds, and supports the maintenance supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Picks up refuse daily Sweeps sidewalks and parking lots as needed Prepares vacated units for re-occupancy Sweeps and cleans laundry room Cleans common area restrooms Vacuums hallway/project office carpet Participates in preventative maintenance programs Complies with company safety policies and procedures Weeds the lawn as directed by maintenance supervisor Performs other duties as requested QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma is required and six months janitorial experience or a combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of chemical safety and necessary precautions Must possess a valid California Driver's License, auto insurance and reliable transportation Commitment to the Mission and Values of MidPen Services and MidPen Housing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position is considered moderately to highly physical and requires a lot of standing, bending, lifting and walking Able to stoop, kneel, carry, push and pull, ascend/descend stairs, climb on ladders, climb on roofs, and crawl in confined spaces on a regular basis The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis WORKING CONDITIONS Works in all types of weather inside and outside Respond to emergency calls at night or on weekends Wears protective safety equipment and clothing as needed This description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not proscribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
