Bush Lake Rd., Bloomington, MN Cost: $20 per half-day workshop Lunch Option: A networking lunchtime will be available, with potential to order a boxed lunch Session 1: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.Early Childhood Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for ExcellenceIn this half-day workshop, participants will engage in a series of hands-on exercises to explore key characteristics of high-quality early childhood environmental education programs and possible implications for curriculum development and evaluation. Whether you are starting your own nature preschool or assessing and improving an existing program, be prepared to engage with others in strategically evaluating recommendations for developing and administering a program that addresses developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood. Each participant will receive a copy of Early Childhood Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for Excellence. Networking Lunch: 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.Join fellow educators for a networking lunch! Optional box lunches will be available for $10. Session 2: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for ExcellenceThis half-day exploration of these newly revised guidelines will inspire and inform practice for environmental education programs at nature centers, zoos, museums, parks departments, and more. Whether you’re looking to build a firm foundation for a new program or inform improvements in an existing program, come ready to discuss characteristics of high-quality programs, need assessments and audience opportunities, program design and delivery based on capacities and appropriateness for your mission, and ongoing evaluation of your program.
