This weekend, the region is preparing for a significant storm with 8 to 12 inches of accumulation possible. The Town of Wakefield has issued a parking ban from Thursday evening at midnight to 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 26. All parked cars must be removed from the roadways to allow plowing crews to safely access the roads and perform cleanup throughout the storm. If your residence does not have a driveway, you are encouraged to connect with your landlord for parking options or coordinate with a neighbor who has extra driveway space.
The Civic Center, Senior Center, Beebe Library, and Town Hall will be closed on Friday, February 25 and there will be no trash and recycling collection on that day. Remember, this week's trash collection is delayed a day due to the Presidents Day holiday. This week's holiday-schedule Friday pickup (regularly Thursday's trash) will be collected on Saturday 2/26/22. This week's holiday-schedule Saturday pickup (regularly Friday's trash) will be collected on Monday, 2/28/22. Next week's collection (2/28/22 – 3/5/22) will be delayed a day.
