NEW BERLIN, WI — Wisconsin State Assembly Rep. Mike Kuglitsch announced Thursday he won't be running for re-election in the fall. Kuglitsch, a Republican of New Berlin, represents the 84th Assembly District, which contains parts of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. "It has been an honor and humbling experience serving the citizens of the 84th Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Assembly. In all seasons of life, you just know when it is time to move on," Kuglitsch said in a news release. Kuglitsch, 62, was born in Milwaukee. He graduated from New Berlin West High School in 1978 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1983 with a B.A. in business, a news release from his office said. "I have had the opportunity to meet and forge great friendships with many individuals from across this wonderful state," Kuglitsch said in a news release. "I was blessed to enter the Assembly with 25 freshman legislators in 2011. These individuals come from all parts of the state and each had unique talents that allowed this class to be instrumental in helping the Legislature pass 12 years of conservative legislation. I truly appreciate my fellow freshman of 2011 and all that we accomplished." "Any legislator knows that without the support of their family, it is very difficult to do this job right. I want to thank my wife and children for their encouragement and help with campaigning and parades. I also want to thank all my great staff, volunteers, and finally, the voters who trusted in me," Kuglitsch added in the news release.
