Press release from the Town of Lexington: February 22, 2022 Patriots' Day is Lexington's biggest yearly event. Many thousands of people gather at the Battle Green on Monday for the reenactment of the "Shot heard 'round the world" that began the American Revolution. And there are events occuring all weekend. Find out more about Patriots' Day and see the schedule of events. NOTE: Monday, April 18 is a Massachusetts holiday, and Town offices and the Community Center will be closed. Cary Library will be closed Sunday and Monday. Trash collection will be on a 1 day delay all week. You Can Help Sponsor the Parade or Be a Parade Ambassador Sponsors Every year, individuals, families, organizations and businesses help us provide a wonderful Patriots' Day Parade, with floats, marching units, and bands. Sponsorships are available for contributions of any amount. See the sponsorship levels and benefits. Find out how you can be a sponsor of this year's Parade! Ambassadors Parade Ambassadors march in teams of 2 or 3 in front of a parade unit, carrying a banner with the name of the local business sponsor of that unit. This is a great opportunity to participate in this nationally known event with a long history. No experience necessary! Parade Ambassadors receive complimentary tee shirts.
