Falmouth's COVID-19 Positivity Rate Drops Below 5%

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth's coronavirus metrics continued to improve, though numbers still remain above the state average, according to data the Massachusetts Department of Public Health released Thursday. Falmouth's positive test rate fell from 6.14 percent to 4.68 percent. As of Thursday, the positive test rate statewide was 2.21 percent. Patch asked the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment to provide context on the numbers and will update this story if we hear back. The town had 71 cases in the last two weeks, or 16.3 daily cases per 100,000 residents. That's down from last week's rate of 26.8. The state also reported that Falmouth has 80.9 percent of its residents fully vaccinated. More than 48 percent of Falmouth residents have gotten the booster.
