LEVITTOWN, NY — Chick-fil-A continues to expand on Long Island. The fast food chain has applied for new building applications in several locations, including Levittown.
A spokesperson for the popular chicken franchise told Newsday that the Atlanta-based company is still "early in the process" but "actively pursuing new locations in West Babylon, Riverhead and Levittown."
The new construction application was submitted in September 2021 for a 5,226-square-foot Chick-fil-A at 3859 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown. The site was formerly a Honda City dealership.
Frederick A. Jawitz, acting building commissioner for Hempstead Town, told Newsday that Chick-fil-A is seeking exemptions for outdoor seating and a drive-thru.
