Press release from the City of San Antonio: Wednesday, February 9, 2022 CONTACT: Victor Landa, 210-884-3429 [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (February 9, 2022) –The San Antonio City Council was briefed today regarding the SA: Ready to Work education and job placement program. Councilwoman Melissa Cabello Havrda issued the following statement: "The SA: Ready to Work program is a visionary opportunity that carries a unique responsibility. It has many moving parts that will require a coordinated effort that includes every sector of the community. With that in mind, extra effort needs to be taken regarding the special needs and hard-to-reach communities. It includes identifying and eliminating barriers, as well as expanding the number of community groups and nonprofits that we rely on to access every part of the city, especially our veteran organizations. I'm excited at the prospect of the transformation that SA: Ready to Work represents. The task at hand is to bring as many people and small businesses as possible into the workforce development process. SA: Ready to Work's success is San Antonio's success and I will work hard to make that success happen." This press release was produced by the City of San Antonio.
