Press release from the City of San Antonio: Thursday, February 10, 2022 CONTACT: Landry Stafford O: 210.207.7022 [email protected] SAN ANTONIO (February 10, 2022) – City Council voted unanimously to move the 2022-2027 Bond Program to the May ballot. Councilman Perry was not present for the vote due to a family matter; however, the following statement was released in response to today's vote: "Thank you to every member of the community who shared their input and to the Community Bond Committee members for volunteering their time and efforts on the 2022-2027 Bond Program. The City has $6.6B infrastructure needs across the City, and this bond proposal includes $150M for housing, $15.7M for arts, and many non-infrastructure citywide and regional projects. Bond Programs only occur every five years. In this 2022-2027 Bond Program, the Streets and Drainage categories are proposed to receive the smallest percentage increase from the 2017-2021 Bond when compared to other categories. I believe each Bond should be focused on infrastructure to help combat that $6.6B deficit. We've worked to propose improvements or our neighbors here in District 10, but we need to focus on our City's failing infrastructure. The voters in District 10 will help decide which projects and programs are approved for the City. I am proud of the work that our community, the District 10 team, and City staff has completed over the last five years. Voters will have the opportunity to vote on each of the 2022-2027 Bond Program propositions on May 7, 2022. I urge everyone to look at the complete list of projects before casting your vote."
