Press release from Johnson City Parks & Recreation: February 24, 2022 Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., is offering a free basketball clinic designed specifically for individuals ages 7 and older with specials needs. Participants will be able to work on their skills and enjoy fun games. The two-session clinic will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 10. Caregivers are welcome, as no personal care will be provided. Register by Monday, March 7 in person at MPCC or by calling 423-434-5749. Therapeutic recreation programming is part of a concerted effort by Parks and recreation to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities through programming. MPCC staff member Rachel Malone is a certified therapeutic recreation specialist. She currently is leading a series of related classes and programs. For more information, call 423-461-4851.
