PAWTUCKET, RI — A Pawtucket baby nearly died due to maltreatment, the Department of Children, Youth and Families said Friday. The incidence happened Jan. 8. The family had no previous involvement with the department, DCYF said. During the investigation, the department determined that maltreatment contributed to the near-death of the infant. The Office of the Child Advocate was notified. No further information was provided due to confidentiality concerns.
