MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police responded to a report of shots fired near Cheers and Beers on Feb. 19.
Police learned there was an altercation between two males outside the bar on Elm Street. It was reported that one man was seen pulling out a gun and shooting at the other person. It was confirmed the victim was not shot. However, during the investigation, police determined the victim was assaulted. The involved parties left the area prior to police arriving.
Police identified, Allyson Mateo, 34, of Manchester as a suspect and accused him of having the gun. A warrant was issued for his arrest and early Friday, he was located and arrested in Hooksett.
Mateo is charged with first-degree assault, reckless conduct – deadly weapon, and felon in possession of a deadly weapon, all felonies. He will be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court North at a date yet to be determined. He is being held on preventative detention at this time.
The shooting on Feb. 19, was one of several gun-related incidents during that weekend.
