Warning: Bacteria Levels To High Too Swim At Some Malibu Beaches

MALIBU, CA — The Los Angeles County public health department on Thursday advised residents to stay out of the water at three Malibu beaches due to increased bacteria levels. The three beaches included in the advisory are Topanga Canyon Beach, Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach and Malibu Point at Surfrider Beach. The advisory started on Thursday for Topanga Canyon Beach and Malibu Point. The advisory for Malibu Lagoon started on Wednesday. Residents have been advised to avoid certain Malibu beaches multiple times throughout recent months. Other beaches included in the advisory were Mother's Beach in Marina del Rey and the Santa Monica Pier. Stay updated on beach conditions by calling the county's beach closure hotline at 800-525-5662 or visiting the department's website.
