GRAYSLAKE, IL — A proposed gas station that drew criticism from Grayslake residents has been approved by the Grayslake village board.
Village board members voted 5-1 in favor of the Casey's General Store and gas station plan, which will be located at the southwest corner of Lake Street and Belvidere Road not far from Grays Lake, according to the Daily Herald.
Those opposed to the gas station said the addition could mess with local traffic patterns, property values and the environment.
Lake Street Motors, which currently is located on the property, will be forced to move out. Lake Street Motors owner James Jeffrey said he's considering relocating but hasn't decide whether to move forward with those plans, yet, according to the article.
