I remember when they had to change all the meters on the pumps in 1979 and 80 when gas went over $1.00 a gallon and the old pumps only had 2 digits. That was when scientist began warning us that gas was going to eventually run out someday, probably by 2050 at the latest. In 1997 the Toyota Prius was launched as the first hybrid car and the warnings from scientists continued. With the new method of fracking to recover underground oil, more oil became accessible and the estimate of when we'll run out was moved back 10 years to 2060. Between now and then, gas prices are expected to continue to rise. And then rise some more. Same as scientist have been warning since the 1970's. That's 50 years of being warned in advance. But conservatives are dumbasses and never listen to scientists so they continue to buy gas guzzling smoke belchers and complaining that no one warned them.
