SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — While the nation still waits for a projected winner in the hotly contested presidential race between Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump, we now have a clearer picture of who Shaker Heights residents voted for. The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections has released its unofficial vote tallies, including breakdowns of how each precinct in the county voted. Here's who Shaker Heights residents voted for in the presidential election, based on the county's unofficial tabulations: Joe Biden: 15,482 Donald Trump: 1,965 Jo Jorgensen: 114 Howie Hawkins: 36 While Shaker Heights broke for Biden, the rest of the state voted for the incumbent, Trump. The president carried Ohio by a wide margin, approximately 450,000 votes. Trump won the Buckeye State by 8 points in 2016 and prognosticators have suggested Ohio may now be a more firmly red state and not the swing state it once was. In other Ohio races, Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Anthony Gonzalez are both projected to have secured re-election in their respective districts. While neither re-election is surprising, both men hail from Republican districts, they were perhaps buoyed by Trump's strong performance in the Buckeye State. Nationwide, Biden is pushing closer to victory after he became the projected winner in other Midwest states Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin. Projections by The Associated Press put Biden's lead at 264 after the Great Lakes state wins. Any of the battleground states yet to be called — Georgia (16 electoral votes), Nevada (6 electoral votes), North Carolina (15 electoral votes) or Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes) — would make him the president-elect.
