SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Caltrans has scheduled four nights of full-directional closures of Interstate 80 next week in Vallejo as part of the I-80 Six Bridges Project to elevate six Solano County freeway overcrossings to allow the passage of new, taller semi-trucks. To date, Caltrans has raised three overcrossings: Springs Road, Magazine Street and Benicia Road. During the upcoming closures scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights, crews will elevate two more: the Georgia Street and Tennessee Road freeway overpasses. The first full overnight freeway closure to raise the Georgia Street overcrossing starts at 11:59 p.m. Monday and continues until 5 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound I-80 in Vallejo, between state Highway 37 and Interstate Highway 780/Curtola Parkway. Then from 11 p.m. Tuesday until 4 a.m. Wednesday, westbound I-80 will be closed. To elevate the Tennessee Road overcrossing, Caltrans' third overnight closure next week starts at 11:59 p.m. Thursday and continues until 5 a.m. Friday on eastbound I-80. The final full overnight closure scheduled for next week starts at 11 p.m. Friday and continues until 4 a.m. Saturday on westbound I-80. Detour Routes During the overnight eastbound I-80 closures, drivers will need to take I-780 to state Highway 29 to state Highway 37 where they can re-enter eastbound I-80. During the overnight westbound I-80 closures, drivers will need to take SR-37 to SR-29 to I-780 where they can re-enter westbound I-80. I-80 onramps in Vallejo will be closed as needed to safely facilitate the work, and Caltrans will post detour signs.
