Currently Shaker Library is open and continues to offer limited hours of operation for the community. Computer use, browsing, and hold pickup are available in both buildings. Customers can request material online or by phone and pick it up using our contact-free curbside service. During the Cuyahoga County Stay-At-Home Advisory, we ask our customers to limit their time in the library. Furniture has been removed from the public spaces and we ask that customers not meet, gather, eat, or drink in the library. We require that all visitors and staff wear masks that cover both mouth and nose. We have installed Plexiglas protective screens at service desks, and have signage and protocols for physical distancing, including limited building capacity. We have cleaning protocols in place that include use of an electrostatic disinfecting sprayer and regular cleaning of all high-touch services. As always, our eLibrary is open 24/7. We offer phone and email reference service, as well as our popular Book Bundle service for youth. Ask our librarians for a Book Bundle and we will choose 3 to 8 items on a topic and contact you when they are ready for pick up. Additionally, our many online programs help connect people, information, and ideas. Both Shaker Library buildings are currently open from 11 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Friday and Saturday. The library is closed Sundays for deep cleaning. Whether you choose to use our services in person or virtually, please know that the health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority as we work to meet our community's needs.
