Gov. Walz Appoints Sherry Haley to Fill Fifth Judicial District

TWIN CITIES, MN — Gov. Tim Walz Friday announced the appointment of Sherry Haley as a District Court Judge in Minnesota's Fifth Judicial District. Haley's appointment will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Gordon Moore to the Minnesota Supreme Court. The seat will be chambered in Nobles County. "I am pleased to appoint Ms. Haley to the Fifth Judicial District," Walz said in a news release. "Her experience as a county attorney and common-sense approach to our justice system distinguish Ms. Haley. I look forward to seeing her continue to work on behalf of the people of Minnesota." "Ms. Haley has proven herself to be a dedicated public servant," said Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan. "She is a highly capable attorney and well-prepared to serve the Fifth Judicial District." The Fifth Judicial District consists of 15 counties in southwest Minnesota: Blue Earth, Brown, Cottonwood, Faribault, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Martin, Murray, Nicollet, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, and Watonwan.
