Nighttime Closures For Interstate Bridge To Install Sensors

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Thursday announced nighttime lane closures for this weekend on the Interstate 20/59 bridge at Exit 73, to allow researchers with the University of Alabama to place sensors designed to study the health of the bridge. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts The closures will also impact McFarland Boulevard, directly under the interstate, which will see intermittent lane closures Friday between 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., while lane closures Saturday and Sunday are scheduled between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. ALDOT says at least one through-traffic lane will be open at all times during the closures.
