SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Trash collection has been delayed one day in Shaker Heights, the city announced Tuesday morning.
The city said the heavy snowfall led to the decision to delay trash collection by a day.
"Thank you for your understanding as we work to manage this snowfall while keeping everyone safe," city officials said in an email to the community.
An additional 5 to 9 inches of snow could fall Tuesday, with another 2 inches possible on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures are unlikely to rise out of the mid-30s until Thursday.
"Snow will diminish from west to east this afternoon with lingering lake effect snow expected [Tuesday] into Wednesday," the agency said.
Much of northern Ohio is under a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. The agency said travel could be nearly impossible in parts of the state due to the storm.
