Former Youth Coach Arrested In Sex Abuse Case

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Police Department arrested a former coach of a travel sports team accused of sexually abusing a player on her team. Meagan Billingsley Deese, 30, of Pelham has been charhed with sodomy, sexual abuse and enticing a child to enter a vehicle, house, etc. for an immoral purpose. On February 14, Hoover Police took a report from an adult female who told officers she had been subjected to unwanted sexual contact by a coach on her travel team when she was a juvenile. The abuse occurred over a period of two to three years but stopped in 2016, according to the report. Deese was taken into custody Wednesday and was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
