Title: Seasonal Maintenance Workers (1 six month position-primary focus parks: April - October) (2 three-month positions-primary focus parks: June - August) (2 three-month positions-primary focus streets: June - August) Closing Date: Open until filled (posted 2/25/22). Ongoing review. Early application submission is encouraged. Position Description: Performs semi-skilled work under limited supervision. The Maintenance Worker, whose primary focus is parks, will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance/repair of the Town’s parks, buildings, and grounds. This individual may be called upon to mow, trim, weed, prune, aerate public grounds/parks, and assist in the collection of litter/cleaning of park restrooms. The Maintenance Worker, whose primary focus is streets, may be called upon to assist in the maintenance/repair of streets, and perform flagger duties. Minimum Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 2. Must be able to understand/execute written/oral instruction. 3. Previous experience in parks/grounds/building maintenance/repair and/or previous experience in the minor repair of streets desired. A combination of experience and training providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position will be considered. 4. Possession of a valid Washington State Driver’s License / good driving record. 5. Flagging card (ability to obtain within an agreed/specified period) 6. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification (ability to obtain within an agreed/specified period) Terms of Employment: The position requires availability to work flexible hours. The incumbent must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless, exempt for qualifying medical/religious reasons (proof of vaccination required). Physical Requirements: These positions require incumbents perform strenuous physical labor in a safe manner. Incumbents must be able to work at ground level as well as heights normally accessed by ladder. They must be able to traverse uneven terrain as the worksite is the outdoor environment. Incumbents must be able to negotiate safely in a traffic environment. These positions require employees work in inclement weather. Employees may have frequent exposure to loud noises, extreme heat/cold, and hazardous materials.
